Formulation Scientist

We are seeking an exceptional Formulation Technical Product Development Scientist, which is a very visible significant role within the Company in the R&D Function. This is a full-time, onsite position and will report to the Head of R&D.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Pharmachem R&D head to develop new and novel nutraceutical products with great emphasis on technical process including, but not limited to, fluid bed granulation, high shear granulation, roller compaction and latest powered processing techniques.
  • Operational understanding and hands on experience of wet a dry granulations processes and equipment’s, direct to hoper (DTH) powders, tableting, coating, encapsulation, gummy making, fermentation technologies, stick packs etc.
  • Optimize existing products and process by solving technical and formulation complexities with higher efficiency and speed. Work with plant operations to improve and scale-up new products.
  • Working as a dietary supplements’ expert with hands-on experience with tablet, capsule, gummy and powder products; personally, getting involved in lab work and plant trials to support new product development and improving existing formulations using latest technologies.
  • Develop and maintain extensive database including new and existing product development and technical records including formulations, lab batch records, test results, raw materials files and equipment logbooks.
  • Help create product specs and other relevant documents which supports developmental footprint.
  • Responsible for all relevant analytical testing completions by coordinating with the Quality dept and helping interpret analytical testing results, and able to address formulation issues as needed.
  • Analyze production and quality data to determine the root cause of chronic operating problems and implement solutions.
  • Functioning as a technical solver incorporation with cross-functional team environment such as sales, marketing, quality, operation, regulatory and procurement dept for multiple projects with effective communication skills.
  • Comply with company SOP, procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs always.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S in Pharmaceutical sciences, Nutrition, Chemical Engineering, or similar with history of successful new product launches.
  • 2+ years prior experience in dietary supplements with M.S. degree or 3+ years prior experience in powder processing technology with B.S. degree.
  • Proficient computer skills including nutritional database, spreadsheets, work and analysis of data formulas, supplement facts, and specifications.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills to share development work within the organization and with customers.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment: lift 10 pounds and move up to 25 pounds when working with bulk ingredients, operate pilot scale equipment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (about 15%) for customer or plant trials.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States – Permanent US Work Authorization (US Citizenship or Green Card)

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of dietary supplement, functional food and nutritional ingredient functionality, a must with proven success in formulation, scaling a commercializing solid oral dose product.
  • Proven self-starter with urgency for delivering results.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing is preferred.

Account Manager

Position Type: Full Time

We are a specialty chemical Nutraceutical products manufacturer. We are seeking an exceptional Account Manager to manage a diverse customer base and drive new business opportunities through pipeline management and representing differentiated products across various end users (brands, CMOs, etc.). The account manager is expected to be a leader in engagement across the industry with a hunter focus while maintaining and growing the current customer base. He or she will have outstanding analytical, communication and strategic skills. They will work cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, quality, and operations to deliver on goals and objectives. This role is remote based and requires travel.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing an exciting and diverse territory comprised on a broad spectrum of customers. These customers can differ by where they are in the value chain (co-manufacturer, brand, etc.) as well as their channel to market (MLM, FDM, DTC).
  • Promoting and selling the totality of our portfolio focused on Nutraceuticals Proprietary ingredients, Branded ingredients. Custom formulations. and manufacturing services. These are premium, differentiated sales
  • Developing a robust opportunity pipeline, winning new business, and growing the sales territory through market share, innovation, and price management.
  • Negotiating commercial terms including pricing and supply contracts, seeking out mutually beneficial scenarios that allow both Pharmachem Innovations and our customer achieve their business goals.
  • Consistently integrate market and industry insights into our business, allowing us to effectively meet needs and innovate.
  • Become an expert on Pharmachem Innovations products and services, able to communicate them to all levels of the customer’s organization.
  • Collaborate with other functional teams within Pharmachem to unlock the full potential of the business. This includes activities such as providing forecasts to operations, leveraging R&D and marketing in sales process, and supporting management on key initiatives.
  • Maintaining all data systems including CRMs.

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. / B.A. in applicable field of study including but not limited to life sciences, engineering, marketing, and business administration or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of sales or marketing experience in the ingredients or dietary supplements market.
  • Permanent US Work Authorization (US Citizenship or Green Card) only

Innovation Scientist

We are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Innovation Scientist to join our Research & Development team. This is a high-impact and visible role that will directly influence the future of our product pipeline and competitive advantage. As part of a team known for pushing the boundaries of nutraceutical innovation, you’ll work at the intersection of science, product development, and market trends to bring novel, clinically supported dietary supplement products to life.

Responsibilities include:

Lead Innovation Projects
• Report and work with Head of R&D to define and execute next-generation product strategies focused on novel delivery systems, new ingredients, and patentable innovations. 

Market & Science Intelligence
• Stay ahead of trends in the dietary supplement and functional ingredient space, including competitor product launches, new bioactives, delivery formats, and regulatory developments.
• Leverage scientific literature, clinical data, and academic partnerships to source and validate cutting-edge technologies. 

Ingredient Discovery & Innovation
• Identify and evaluate novel nutraceutical ingredients especially those new to market aligned with strategic business needs, safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct scientific reviews to assess clinical relevance, and innovation potential. 

Clinical Research & Scientific Validation
• Collaborate and oversight clinical studies to substantiate efficacy, safety, and health claims.
• Translate clinical outcomes into science-backed claims and documentation to support marketing, regulatory, and product positioning. 

Pipeline Development
• Build and maintain a robust innovation pipeline and internal ingredient/formulation database including new product concepts and line extensions to support long-term R&D and commercialization goals. 

Stage-Gate & Project Management
• Lead innovation projects through the stage-gate process from ideation and feasibility through development and commercialization ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective execution. 

Patent & IP Generation
• Contribute to the development of patentable technologies and proprietary formulations that offer sustainable competitive advantage and IP protection. 

Product Development & Scale-Up
• Conduct lab-scale formulation and pilot trials across tablets, capsules, powders, and gummies to support development, optimization, and scale-up of new and existing products.
• Develop products or delivery systems that enhance stability, bioavailability, consumer experience, and manufacturing efficiency. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing teams to align product development with compliance, operational feasibility, and go-to-market strategy. 

Academic & Supplier Partnerships
• Cultivate partnerships with universities, ingredient suppliers, and external R&D collaborators to co-develop, validate, or license new technologies and functional ingredients. 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.S. or M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nutrition, Food Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years (with M.S.) or 3+ years (with B.S.) experience in dietary supplement R&D. 
  • Hands-on experience developing solid oral dosage forms (tablets, capsules, gummies, powders). 
  • Strong knowledge of nutraceutical ingredient functionality, formulation techniques, and product stability. 
  • Proven success in launching innovative, commercially viable products. 
  • Experience with supplement facts panel creation, specifications, and analytical data interpretation. 
  • Familiarity with cGMP, regulatory compliance, and stage-gate or innovation frameworks. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Capable of lifting 10–25 lbs. and operating pilot-scale equipment.

Operator I - Second Shift

Position Type: Full Time
Location
: Totowa, NJ

We are seeking an Operator which has a significant role within the company in the Totowa Plant and
the Process Engineering department. This is a full-time fully on-site position working Monday through
Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with flexibility to be available on weekends. This position’s range
of pay is $17-$19 an hour and reports to the Production Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible to help the Operator II run spray dry equipment, chilsonator, reaction, and blending with exceptionally high degree of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Thoroughly inspect all equipment for proper functioning status and cleanliness before use (Pre-Op check).
  • Follow all safety, quality, and material handling procedures.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cleaning and sanitizing processes.
  • Inspect all equipment following HACCP checklist.
  • Take samples and visually inspect product before packaging.
  • Report any deviations to other operators and/or supervisor.
  • Take part in all training sessions related to job responsibilities, quality, and food safety.
  • Understands and performs relevant Quality and Food Safety responsibilities in compliance with Pharmachem and FSSC22000 requirements.
  • Any additional duties assigned by supervisor or lead.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to lift 22.7 kilos (50 pounds). Additional ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, to push and pull boxes, drums, climb ladders, work in various plant environments including confined spaces, high altitudes, hazardous areas.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks.

EHS Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional EHS Specialist/Program Manager who is responsible for ensuring that all Pharmachem locations exceed government (OSHA, EPA) and local safety and environmental standards. Key indicators of success include zero recordable injuries, a high rate of closure for safety-related actions, and full compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements. Additionally, this role will contribute to sustainability efforts as outlined below. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols, policies, and procedures to prevent workplace accidents and injuries. 
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, safety training, and associated actions. 
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses/good catches, and safety violations, follow actions through completion. 
  • Ensure all sites compliant with environmental regulations and permits are current. 
  • Responsible for supporting EHS and implementing a zero-incident culture. 
  • Develop and maintain emergency response programs, including spill management, natural disaster plan, and incident response. Includes drills and exercise to maintain readiness. 
  • Ensure proper waste disposal including management and labeling of hazardous waste. 
  • Develop and maintain sustainability programs including recycling, water use reduction, and carbon footprint measurement. 
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with local authorities (Fire, Police, Environmental Agencies, Utilities). 
  • Generate and present yearly plans and progress, develop and illustrate metrics, and lead core safety team. 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field (preferred). 
  • 2-4 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations. 
  • Excellent communication and people skills. 
  • Proficient in Project Management. 
  • Excellent leadership skills, innovation, and creativity 
  • Proven self-starter with urgency for delivering results. 
  • Authorized to work in the United States and domestic travel up to 25%.
